Since my last post there has been so much that has happened in college football. There was championship weekend. Florida knocked off number one Alabama in the SEC championship, which got them a number two ranking in the BCS polls and an invite to the championship game. There opponent is Oklahoma who beat Missouri in the Big 12 championship game. Oklahoma’s quarterback Sam Bradford was named the best player in college football this Saturday. Bradford was one of three Heisman candidates. Sam Bradford (Oklahoma), Tim Tebow (Florida), Colt McCoy (Texas). So the national title game will have to Heisman winning quarterbacks. The other BCS bowl match ups are Tostitos FiestaOhio State vs. Texas, Allstate Sugar Utah vs. Alabama, FedEx OrangeCincinnati vs. Virginia Tech, and Rose Bowl Penn State vs. USC. Iowa was invited to the Outback bowl in Tampa Bay Florida. They will be playing South Carolina. South Carolina is a middle of the road SEC team so it is kind of a lose, lose situation for Iowa because if they win oh well it’s not one of the best SEC teams but if they happen to lose then everyone will talk about how a middle of the conference SEC team can knock off one of the best Big Ten teams. Then everyone will talk about how the SEC is so much better than the Big Ten. Although personally I do think that the SEC overall is better than the Big Ten, just because the speed that they have. And Iowa State for a second year in a row got invited to the toilet bowl. Haha only joking but they did lose there head coach Gene Chizik to Auburn. This is kind of surprising because he has not had the best records as a head coach winning a total of five or six games there but it could be because of the Iowa State program. Losing him is not a good thing for Iowa State because who on earth is going to want to coach Iowa State they have not been good since coach Knock played there and that was five or six seasons ago.

I created this blog to write about college sports. I will be blogging about recent news and scores. I also might talk about sports in general, college and professional. I am very interested in sports so it should be rather easy to talk about. For references I will use the ESPN network, either tv or webpage and maybe the radio everyonce and awhile.
The big news of the week and weekend is the whole Plexico Burress ordeal. Burress had an illegal concealed gun in his pants and it fired and hit his leg. The Giants just suspended him for four games, but the charges that he faces has a minimum sentence of 3 and half years and a maximum sentence of 15. His court date is March 31 unless he meets a plea agreement. Personally I think this is ridicules. Why on Earth would you have a gun just for the hell of it? I could understand if his life was really at risk then he should have had it registered/ know not to shot yourself in the leg and injure yourself. They are saying that the injures could possible season or even his career.
In college football this weekend Oklahoma beat there instate rival Oklahoma State. They are headed to the big 12 championship to play Missouri. The big news was that jumped Texas in the BCS polls even though Texas beat them earlier in the season. I’m not sure I agree with this because in past years everyone is like it should be the head to head match ups, and what happens on the field to decide the rankings but this year for some reason they are throwing out what happened on the field. I really don’t like how it’s turning out because they have the same record and have played the same teams but Texas won the head to head match up but still the computers put Oklahoma ahead of Texas. The SEC championship game is number one Alabama and number four Florida. This could have major implications on who is going to the championship game. I believe that if Florida wins this game they will jump both Oklahoma and Texas and be number one in the BCS and go to the Championship game. One crazy thing is that Texas could end up going to the Championship game if a couple of things work out in there favor, but the crazy thing is that they could go to the championship game and not even win the division(Big 12 South) which Oklahoma won.
