Ok well there really isn’t much to talk about besides the NBA playoffs. Last night there was a couple of games. Oh and by the way the Spurs are out of it if I didn’t post that last time, I couldn’t remember if I did or not. But anyways moving on the games last night, the heat got dominated by the hawks so the hawks lead that series 3 to 2 and game 6 is in Miami tomorrow night. Then in the other game last night the nuggets went in to the game leading 3 to 1 and in the game they killed the hornets 107 to 86 so the nuggets move on and play the mavericks in the western conference semifinals. Tonight there are three eastern conference games. The other night the bulls and the Celtics has another over time game but this time the Celtics came out on top so the Celtics lead the series 3 to 2 but the game tonight is in Chicago. The trail blazers and rockets play in Huston and the rockets lead that series 3 to 2. And in the last game the magic play at the 76ers and they are up 3 to 2. That’s all I got about the freaking NBA at the moment.

Well A Rod is back in the news cause I guess that he allegedly used steroids since high school and didn’t stop using them until he was with the Yankees. I could really careless about this because now this is going to be in the news for another 4 weeks and it really pisses me off.

This week was the NFL Draft. Since the Lions didn’t win a game last year they got the first pick and chose Matt Stafford from Georgia. Shonn Greene was drafted the first pick of Sunday and went to the New York Jets. My Packers took B.j. Raji from Boston College in the first round. They did a lot of trading around and ended up with some defensive help and a little offensive help too.

Oh in other news the Yankees got swept by the Red Sox this weekend.
There is a lot of sporting news since I haven’t really posted about any sports this week. I got way too distracted by Nug’s outfit on Thursday. First off the NBA playoffs are still going on and some of the series are getting pretty intense. The Bulls Celtics series is becoming one to remember, especially today’s great game. The Celtics came into Chicago today leading the series 2-1 and left with the series tied at 2-2. And wow it was one heck of a game. The game went into double overtime and that doesn’t even explain how good of game it was. They play game 5 in Boston on Tuesday. The Cavaliers took the series today by knocking off the Pistons 99-78. The Cav’s took this series very convincingly and played very well in all four games. The only thing about taking the series in four games is that now the Cav’s could have up to 9 day break before their next game. The Magic 76ers series are tied up at 2-2, I haven’t seen any of these games so I really don’t have much to say about this series besides I hope someone in the east can knock off the Cav’s since everyone thinks that they are destined for the championship. The Rockets are leading the series 2-1 right now but they are playing it’s halftime at the moment but the rockets are up by 6. The Hornets won their first game of the series this week end; Nuggets lead that series 2-1. Wade led the Heat to a win and to take the lead on the series 2-1. The Mavericks took game four and lead the series 3-1 now over the Spurs. And last but my favorite, the Lakers. They had a little slip up in game 3 and lost by a point but then yesterday won and now lead the series 3-1. The Lakers have played real good and it seems to me that they are the best looking team that I’ve seen. I could be playing favorites though. MVP award comes out soon and they even have commercials because it’s really down to the two greats, Kobe or Lebron. I hope personally that Kobe gets it but I think either of them could get it because they both are so good and so fun to watch.

Ok today I am going to blog about Tyler’s 200 dollar outfit he is wearing today. Let me explain it to you first off he has just a rather normal polo it’s this light blue, it kind of matches his eyes. In the fashion world is probably a good thing. Then he has on these blue and white like crazy striped, but they are like different kinds of white or blue striped patches put together its kind like one of those old blankets. His shorts are also polo so it’s a whole polo outfit. To top it all off he has the all white air max’s, and wow let me tell you he looks freakin good.

Moving on from how good Nug looks to some sporting news. Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington are holding a press conference today on weather or not they are going to go to the NBA draft or come back for their senior year. They just won the National Championship so I don’t see the point in them coming back for another year unless they were super confident that they were going to win another championship I don’t see the point. I would not want to win it my junior year and then come back and not even win it my senior year.

Now since I am not really feeling the sports today. I’m kind of into the fashion; I’ll talk about kels and whatever you call those weird shorts/ shirt she is wearing. But on a serious note I really think I might have a future in fashion.

I just wanted to blog real quick so I could get my three done for the week. The big news around the sporting world right now is the NFL draft is coming up and who is going to go to which team in the first round. Also the NBA playoffs are still going on the Cavs won again this evening to take a 2-0 lead on the Pistons. Yesterday the Celtics won in a rather high scoring game to tie the series at 1-1 and the other game last night the Spurs won to make that series 1-1 too.

Today I’m going to cover a whole bunch of sporting news since I haven’t posted in about a week. Gary Sheffield hit his 500th homerun this week. The Florida Marlins are 11 and 1 through the first two weeks of baseball and they are killing everyone they play. This week the Yankees had there first home game in the new Yankee Stadium, and yester day they got beat 22 to 4 to the Cleveland Indians. The Indians had a 14 run second inning. When people have feelings for the Yankees you either love them or hate them, and I am more of a hater I guess you could say. I just do not like the way that they think if they buy up the suppose to greatest players and pay them crazy amounts of money and still not win or like last year even make the playoffs.

Moving on from baseball the NBA playoffs started yesterday. Starting with my favorite team, the Lakers, they have the Jazz the first round of the playoffs. To day was the first game the Lakers won 113 to 100. In what I thought was a rather easy game for them, from the start you could tell that the Jazz really never had a chance. Then today the 76ers and Magic played and this was a pretty exiting game. The Magic were up by like 15 or so and the 76ers came all the way back and won with a last second shot 100 to 98. In one of the surprising games the Bulls beat the defending champs Celtics 103 105 in over time. The Cavs killed the Pistons 84 102. Everyone is thinking that it is going to be the Cavs and Lakers in the Championship; I think that half of that is almost for sure. There is really no one in the west that can compete with the Lakers and the way they are playing right now and they think it will be the Cavs since the Celtics don’t have KG but there are some teams that I feel can beat the Cavs in a maybe a series that goes 5 or 7 games. The Rockets bet the Trail Blazers and the Mavericks knocked off the Spurs too. Atlanta just beat the Heat and Denver and New Orleans just started. Also they hockey playoffs have started but I’m not a real big hockey fan so I really don’t want to talk to blog about any hockey other than in local sporting new the Roughriders lost last night in the last 15 seconds of the game so their season is over.
First off I want to say a perspectives has all of a sudden turned into this class where we had all of this stuff due. Last week we had our huge opinion papers that I found kind of tough to write. This really was difficult because we had to find three of our own sources from ebscohost.com and the toughest part of the whole thing was probably the bibliography. I used easybib.com and it still was real hard to get it all right or right enough to Mr. Ayer’s standards. But now that it’s done and over with it wasn’t that bad I just hope we wont have to do anymore papers like that the rest of the year. Since I am on the subject of the end of year, I really can not wait till school is over and done with. We have about four weeks left and I can say that for about the past four months I have kind of got the senioritis and not tried as hard as I probably should have been but especially now that the weather is getting nice and I’m out doing stuff after school outside I really do not do much school work at home. As the school year wraps up it is really weird to think that I won’t ever be coming back to this school that I have been at almost everyday for the last four years, but I’m really excited to move on. I will be attending the University of Iowa next year. I will probably be in almost all of the same classes as Mr. Ayers since I am just skipping right to my Ph.D.

Well I said it was going to be Thursday but I just decided to do my third blog right now. Tiger made a run but couldn’t close he ended with bogeys on 17 and 18 and ended his chance at winning the masters. He finished minus 8. Cabrera an Argentinean won it in a playoff. There have only been 7 playoffs in the history of the masters. It was pretty cool but it seemed to me that almost everyone kind of chocked at the end. The announcers said it was the pressure of the masters and I can believe it. Well that’s about it for this week.
Well happy Easter everyone. As of this moment Tiger and Phil just finished the front nine. Phil set a masters record 30 on the front nine is minus 10 and only a stroke back from the leaders. Tiger has gained some strokes back too. He is at minus 7 as of now and still has nine holes to catch the leaders and if I had to bet I think I would bet in his favor. He pretty much is the most clutch athlete in sports right now. I’ll have more on he winner and how it all turned out probably my next post which will probably be Thursday.
The other day I talked about the Angles pitcher, Nick Adenhart, which had died that morning in a car crash. Well later that day when I got home or the next day I saw that he had actually pitched here in cedar rapids for a season with the kernels. When I heard that it kind of gave me a weird feeling because I was like wow I could have seen him play. I guess it kind of turned into someone that I really had never heard of into someone that I could have seen pitch a game.

Ok well I just blogged the other day, and this keeping up with my blogging I’m having a tough time coming up with new and exciting stuff to blog about. See in the past I would maybe blog once every two weeks so there was tons of stuff sports stuff to talk about but now with blogging three times a week and the required amount of words I’m running out of stuff to talk about. Anyways I’ll find something.
In the off season the Yankees spent a record amount of money on two players. This is right when the recession hit so some people were kind of upset but anyways they signed C.C. Sabathia. He was supposed to be there ace this year. He pitched opening day against a not very good Baltimore team. They lost ten to five. And Sabathia kind of blew a big one; he is the only pitcher in Yankee history not to get a strike out on opening day. Money well spent in my opinion. I hope they miss the play offs again. Make it two seasons in a row. They lost the next day to Baltimore again so they started off the season 0 and 2. They are on pace to go 0 and 165 this season.
Today when I got on ESPN like I usually do right when I get on the computer for a blogging day, there was a breaking news thing that popped up that an Angles pitcher had died at the age of 22. His name is Nick Adenhart, he was a rookie pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels. Adenhart died in a hit-and-run car crash Thursday morning. He had pitched the night before in Anaheim. A spokesman from the University of California, Irvine Medical Center said Adenhart died after undergoing surgery. Adenhart, 22, was one of three people killed in the crash just after midnight, after pitching in a loss against the Oakland Athletics. This was just his fourth major league start. The driver of a minivan ran a red light in Fullerton and hit two cars. According to the Los Angeles Times, two people were pronounced dead at the scene, and two were taken to a hospital. The fourth person is reported to be seriously injured. The minivan's driver ran from the scene, but was arrested about a mile away.
The last couple of post I have not had a picture of the day. That is because the past few times I have got on and looked there really wasn’t any that I liked all that much. And I only post the best for my readers (Mr. Ayers, and Asian Girl that thinks my blog is “fine”).
These pictures were from Kodak.com they have there own picture of the day thing. The first one is titled- Sally Lightfoot Cab.
The second one is titled- Bald Eagle ‘fishin’.

Ok well as I promised I would be talking about last night’s championship game. But before I get started with that blow out I made a typo when I was talking last post about how many fans were there. I said 75000 Michigan St. fans but I meant that was how many Ford field held. Sorry that was my bad. But last nights game really wasn’t a game from the get go. North Carolina started off hot and never really looked back. Michigan St. on the other hand started off slow and found itself in a hole and kept digging and then when they tried to crawl out, it was way too deep already. UNC shot lights out to start the game and all the way through it. Michigan St. had a record 21 turnovers last night. I’m pretty sure no one anywhere can win a game with 21 turnovers. UNC was up by like 20 to end the first half. That was a record too of a men’s championship game. Ty Lawson also had a championship record with 8 steals. Wayne Ellenton was the games MVP. The closest MSU got was 13 I’m pretty sure. Oh and if you were wondering, yes, yes I did win the pool at my fathers work.

Sunday, April 5, 2009

Well the two semifinal games were played yesterday afternoon and evening for the men’s NCAA basketball tournament. On the one side of the bracket it was number 3 Michigan St. facing number 1 ranked U Conn. The final four this year is being held in Detroit so it was pretty much a home game for Michigan St. They were talking before the game how there could be up to 75000 Michigan St. fans in attendance. Normally when a basketball game is held in a football stadium, it is set at one end or the other. But for yesterdays games the floor was set right in the middle of the field because there was so many fans there. Michigan St. ended up knocking off U Conn. in a rather good game in my opinion. There was this huge dunk that a Michigan St. guy had over a U Conn. player. I faked like he was going to pass and then just went for the dunk and just dunked on the guy. I was actually watching the game at BWW and the whole place went crazy. In the second game number one ranked North Carolina played another third ranked seed Villanova. This wasn’t that great of a game just because of how good UNC is. They are playing really well right now and that’s good because, if they win, I win the pool that I entered and that means some money in my pocket. That’s pretty much it for now the championship game is played tomorrow night, I’ll probably have a post about that after a champ is crowned.

There are only a couple of days till opening day in the MLB. And then there is only a couple more games till the NBA playoffs start. I’m not sure what I’m going to focus on, but probably the NBA playoffs because both of these sports are rather boring during there regular season but then when they get to the playoffs, I think the players actually start trying or try a little harder than they normally do on for example a Tuesday afternoon game. I have always been a Lakers fan ever since I was a little tike, but I’m not real sure what I would say is my favorite MLB team. I would probably say it would have to be the cubs, only cause that’s the only team I’ve seen play at there stadium. But anyways moving on from what my favorite teams are… The standings for the NBA playoffs from today in the west it’s-
1. Lakers
2. Denver
3. San Antonio
4. Houston
5. New Orleans
6. Portland
7. Utah
8. Dallas
And in the East it’s-
1. Cleveland
2. Boston
3. Orlando
4. Atlanta
5. Philadelphia
6. Miami
7. Detroit
8. Chicago
If you were wondering at all I guess. But for my new thing, the picture of the day that I found and liked. The frog one is titled Mirrors. And the other is the space shuttle taking off a couple of weeks ago.
